Homecoming 2022: Panthers seek to ground Eagles in Week 6

Video: LMHS DMA does it again, watch the Week 5 highlights here!

MORROW -- Kickoff: 7 p.m. Eastern.
Setting the scene: The Little Miami Panthers varsity football team seeks to get their overall record back to even par when they host the upstart Milford Eagles for the LMHS Homecoming Game on Friday night. The Panthers are currently ranked at No. 6 in the rugged Eastern Cincinnati Conference and reside at No. 8 in the OHSAA D-II, Region 8 standings.
In Week 5 action, the Panthers hosted undefeated Winton Woods and fell 41-7 to the visitors, while Milford suffered their first defeat of the 2022 campaign as they also fell 41-7 to the Kings Knights.
DMA is doing it again: LMHS Digital Media arts led by teacher and sports media guru Nick DeSanctis produced another great highlight video this week! Check it out at: https://youtu.be/4HGwLk6t_l0
The series: Milford and Morrow are both situated on the banks of the scenic Little Miami River and are separated by just 21 nautical miles. However, the series on the gridiron has just two games of separation and Milford leads the matchup 2-0. The schools' first meeting came in the Covid-marred 2020 season, and Milford routed the Panthers 55-26 in Week 5 in Morrow. Last season, the Eagles jumped on the visiting Panthers early and never looked back as they soared to a 31-6 Eagles win in Milford.
Who to look for: Milford QB1 Austin Hardin is currently No. 3 in the ECC with 1418 yards of offense, and Little Miami QB1 Grant Maupin follows at No. 4 overall with 813 yards. Little Miami ATH Brayden Bischoff has wrangled 44 total tackles playing DB in 2022 and resides at No. 2 in the ECC. Bischoff is tied with Milford LB Andrew Littrell.
Predictions: The Little Miami offense is ranked No. 2 in the ECC with 1361 yards of offensive output. Their 453.7 YPG is comprised of 182.7 YPG rushing the ball and 271.0 through the air. The Eagle defense is ranked No. 9 in the ECC surrendering 409.6 YPG on average. Also, the Little Miami defense is ranked No. 6 and giving up 344.3 YPG, on average. Whereas, Milford is ranked No. 4 in The League offensively and generating roughly 390 YPG. Expect both teams to rush the ball to control the clock, while also taking shots deep downfield through the air to expose sleeping defenses.
