Jeff Woodson will be named the next head coach of the Little Miami High School boys' soccer program.

Woodson takes over following a historic 2025 OHSAA postseason run in which the Panthers upset top-seeded Mason en route to the first district championship in school history. The run capped a three-year tenure under veteran head coach Andy Schur, who elected to retire from his position following the season.

Schur's Panthers finished 6-10-3 in 2025 but were firmly in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference title conversation a year earlier, posting a 12-4-3 record in 2024 and spending time ranked No. 1 in The League standings.

Entering the 2026 campaign, Woodson inherits a youthful varsity roster that returns nine varsity letter winners and more than 20 junior varsity players after the graduation of 11 seniors. Despite the youth movement, Woodson is well prepared for the opportunity.

"I am truly excited for the opportunity to lead the Little Miami boys' soccer program," Woodson said. "The trajectory of the program is ascending, and I'm looking forward to installing a foundation for long-term success. We will emphasize team success while developing our players both technically and tactically as individuals."

Woodson brings nearly 25 years of coaching experience to Little Miami. His soccer journey began as a player at Chaminade Julienne High School in Dayton, Ohio, where he graduated in 2000 after a decorated prep career as a striker and midfielder for the Eagles and local club teams.

He continued his playing career at Urbana University, competing from 2000–04 in the NCAA Division II program as a versatile contributor at striker, midfield, and defense. Following graduation, Woodson immediately transitioned into coaching, beginning as a volunteer with Urbana's program.

His coaching résumé includes head JV coaching stops at Chaminade Julienne (2009–10), West Carrollton (2010–11), Bishop Fenwick (2013–15), and Alter (2015–17), as well as a varsity assistant coaching role at Franklin High School from 2020–25. Woodson also brings extensive club experience with CUP/United Cincinnati, Ohio ODP, and TB Elite.
In addition to soccer, Woodson spent several years coaching high school baseball, serving as an assistant under current LMHS principal Dr. Kevin Harleman during a successful run at Miamisburg High School.

Following Board of Education approval on Feb. 25, program communication will be released regarding offseason lifting, skill development opportunities, and future planning meetings for players and families.

Little Miami will open the 2026 season on Friday, Aug. 14, with a Friday Night Futbol nonconference matchup against Sycamore, followed by a home contest versus GMC opponent Lakota East on Aug. 18.
