The Little Miami athletic department is both excited and proud announce Maineville resident and former Mason High School girls soccer head coach Andy Schur as the next head coach of the LMHS varsity boys soccer program!

From July 2009 until the completion of the 2022 season, Coach Schur led and built the Mason Lady Comets soccer program into a powerhouse in the State of Ohio. On the field, his Lady Comets complied an impressive 199-44-35 record during his 14-year run. Including, two OHSAA state runner-up championships, three regional titles, eight district titles, and eight Greater Miami Conference crowns. However, Schur's success wasn't confined to the field. One of the traits that set him apart from all other candidates, was his professional skill set and ability to teach and communicate. At Mason, Coach Schur had three full rosters, seven coaches, and a large booster group contention under this jurisdiction. With that all that support, Schur successfully implemented community service initiatives, leadership programs, and teamwork building which empowered players and their families to expand their other-centered focus beyond their individual compartment.

"Coach Schur was obviously highly recommended as a candidate to be our next head coach leading the boy's soccer program here at Little Miami, and deservedly so," said athletic director Matt Louis. "His on-field marks and awards are beyond impressive, but even more inspiring was Andy's professionalism through leadership roles. It's really exciting to listen to the potential cohesion for his program vision while also developing complete student-athletes".

Also, Coach Schur's resume isn't limited to coaching just soccer or on the girl's side of the department. During the 2007, 08, and 09 seasons, Coach Schur was an assistant coach in the Mason High School boys soccer program. Schur played a key support role in the design of training calendars, practice plans, and in-game coaching strategies and adjustments. In addition, Coach Schur led the Mason freshman girl's basketball team during the 2022-23 winter campaign.

From 2002-07, Schur was the varsity boys soccer head coach at Northwest High School in Greater Cincinnati's Northwest Local School District. At NHS, Schur quickly installed a program foundation which led the Knights to levels of success that they had never experienced prior to his tenure. In six seasons at the helm, Schur's Knights recorded a 45-26-14 record while winning two SWOC championships, too.

The five-time GMC Coach of the Year, two-time Southwest District Coach of the Year, and 2014 OHSAA D-I Coach of the Year graduated from Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky in May of 2000 with a bachelor of mathematics in secondary education, and went on to achieve a master of arts in teaching from the University of Cincinnati in 2002. Currently, Schur teaches math at William Mason High School where he's taught since 2007.

"Leading the the Little Miami boy's program is an opportunity that gives me great excitement," exclaimed Schur. "For me, it refuels my soccer passion as I look forward to building a program that both the Panther Community and student-athletes deserve. When analyzing this opportunity, I certainly did some personal reflection before making a final decision, but when I made it, I felt Little Miami is a great fit for me personally, for my family, and this program too. I'm very excited about getting started! We're going to commit a plan of excellence to these skilled young men, while also working as hard as possible each day to see that vision into fruition."

Schur and his wife have two kids and are also Maineville residents.

In 2024, the improvement of the Little Miami Panthers varsity boys' soccer team under the direction of second-year head coach Andy Schur was massive in 2024. The Panthers finished the season at 12-4-3 overall and won their first OHSAA postseason game since leaving the SWOC and entering the ECC at the conclusion of the 2019 season. Little Miami started their season 5-0-1 before suffering their first setback of the season to Kings, but from there they proceeded to win six-straight matches as they rose to 11-0-1 and were ranked No. 9 in Ohio with four games remaining in the season. To conclude the regular season, the Panthers traveled to Springboro where they battled the state-ranked hosts to 1-1 tie, which catapulted the Panthers into the postseason where they drew a Round 1 home matchup with GMC rival (No. 12) Fairfield. What transpired in the game with Fairfield, has turned out to be the most thrilling finish of a Little Miami contest this 2024-25 school year! After two scoreless halves and one overtime session, the game went to penalty kicks and the host Panthers outlasted the visitors 7-6 in overtime as the Rat Pack stormed the field to celebrate the historic win! Panthers who earned ECC postseason accolades were Delandre Hutton (1st Team), Brandon Prough (1st Team), Zach Stevens (1st Team), Eli Kosobud (2nd Team), Noah Ross (2nd Team), and Cade Wojnicz (honorable mention).
