Senior Night: Panthers seeking to extend their win streak to four games, with a trip to the postseason on the line

Setting the Scene: It's Week 10 of the 2026 OHSAA high school football season, and Senior Night for Little Miami's football, cheerleading, and band participants. For the Panthers, a fourth consecutive win and a berth in the postseason are both on the line in this pivotal matchup as they welcome West Clermont (4-5, 3-5 ECC) into Morrow.
The Panthers have won three straight games and secured a winning record for the first time since joining the Eastern Cincinnati Conference (ECC). In Week 7 at Kings, Little Miami edged the Knights 20-19. The Panthers raced to a 20-0 halftime lead and held on for their first victory over Kings in 17 years.
A week later, Little Miami shut out visiting Loveland 34-0, avenging a heartbreaking 37-34 triple-overtime loss to the Tigers in 2025. Last Friday, the Panthers once again jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead before holding off the host Milford Eagles for a 28-13 victory. The win improved Little Miami's record to 6-3 overall and 5-3 in ECC play.
Last Week: At Milford, Coach Mahon's game plan was clear: establish the running game and control the clock. The Panthers finished with 163 yards on 32 carries while attempting just nine passes for 114 yards.
Senior running back Walker Brewsaugh delivered a career-best performance, carrying the ball 30 times for 154 yards (5.1 yards per carry) and four touchdowns. He found the end zone twice on three-yard runs in the first quarter before adding a third touchdown on a one-yard plunge in the second quarter.
After halftime, Milford rallied with two consecutive scores to cut the deficit to 21-13 with 5:42 remaining. With momentum shifting to the Eagles, the Panthers suddenly found themselves in a tight contest. But with less than three minutes left, Brewsaugh scored his fourth touchdown of the night to seal the 28-13 victory.
The win improved Little Miami to 6-3 overall, securing the program's first winning season since Coach Mahon's previous tenure as the Panthers' head coach.
Scouting Report: West Clermont won three straight games against the Panthers from 2022-2024. Little Miami head coach Mahon was responsible for two of those losses, serving as the Wolves' head coach in 2022 and 2023. After returning to Little Miami in 2025, Mahon helped snap the Panthers' three-game skid against West Clermont in emphatic fashion, routing the Wolves 42-0 in Week 9 in Clermont County.
West Clermont is led by first-year head coach Jeremy Pflug. In 2026, the Wolves have already doubled their win total from last season. They rank sixth in the ECC in total offense and ninth in total defense. West Clermont's offense is led by senior quarterback Colton Abner, who ranks fourth in the conference in passing with 1,728 yards, and senior running back Caleb Abshire, who ranks among the ECC's top five rushers with 872 yards on the ground.
This week, look for Little Miami to build on the success of Walker Brewsaugh's ground game against Milford while continuing to rely on the playmakers who have fueled the Panthers' turnaround. Junior quarterback Braydon Brown's versatility as a dual-threat signal-caller will be key to keeping the West Clermont defense off balance. Brown's passing targets include 6-foot-5 senior wide receiver Carter Stewart, who has been effective on in-breaking routes, and the emerging deep-field threat Owen Hoch, who provides the Panthers with another big-play option.
In 2026, Little Miami's defense has recorded two shutouts and held opponents to fewer than 17 points in five games. Meanwhile, the Panthers' offense has averaged more than 27 points per game over the past three weeks. Maintaining that balance on both sides of the ball will be critical if Coach Mahon and his Panthers hope to extend their season into Week 11 and secure a spot in the Division I, Region 4 postseason.
