NEWTOWN — The Little Miami Lady Panthers (5-1-2, 4-0-1 ECC) took a major step in their conference title pursuit Tuesday night, defeating the Turpin Spartans 2-1 on the road. Senior Emily Bayles and Elly Goins each found the back of the net in the win, which moves the Panthers into a tie for first place in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference with the Anderson Lady Raptors.

Led by second-year head coach Dann Marketos, the Lady Panthers still face key upcoming contests against fellow ECC contenders Anderson and Milford—both top-three teams in the league. UPDATE: (4:14 PM) We regret to inform you that our Athletic Department was just contacted (4:14 PM) by the Winton Woods Athletic Department regarding tonight's varsity soccer game. Unfortunately, while they had a bus ready at their school, their varsity team was not present. They have informed us that this was due to a communication error on their end at the team level. We sincerely apologize for this unexpected change and appreciate your understanding. We will work with Winton Woods to coordinate a rescheduled date as soon as possible. In the meantime, we'll speak with the student-athletes directly and share updated plans for today.
