NEWTOWN -- The Little Miami Panthers varsity football team fell 34-14 Friday night to the Turpin Spartans in Newtown during both teams 2024 ECC Opener. The setback drops the Panthers to 0-2 (0-1 ECC), however Little Miami did find the second half spark they've been searching for when Cody Neltner snagged a 24-yard TD from QB Camden Fox. Additionally, another big offensive performance was turned in by senior WR Mitchell Lyons who had three receptions for 68 yards, including a 61-yard TD late in the third quarter. Lyons also added an electric 59-yard kickoff return that put the Panthers into Turpin territory. On the day, Camden Fox was 8-for-15 for 154 yards and two TDs, and defensively Little Miami was led by senior LB Eli Schoellman who recorded nine tackles. The Panthers are back in action this Friday when they travel to Anderson to face the upstart Raptors (2-0, 1-0 ECC). Kickoff is slated for 7 PM.
