Baseball holds off Franklin 10-9 for Coach Woodruff's first career win

MORROW -- In the bottom of Inning 7, with the bases loaded and the Little Miami Panthers varsity baseball team leading the visiting Franklin Wildcats 10-9, a Wildcats' batter swung for paydirt and the ball went vertical into the Morrow sky. Then, it dropped into the glove of the Panthers third baseman and Little Miami (1-3, 0-1 ECC) claimed their first win of the season while also logging Coach Woodruff his first career varsity head coaching victory.

"It felt great to get that first win behind us," exclaimed Woodruff. "This has been a busy first week, and we can now refocus while using this win as a foundation to hopefully string together a run of wins."

Weather pending, the Panthers host ECC rival West Clermont this afternoon at 5 PM at LMHS and they're slated to travel to the Reds Urban Youth Academy tomorrow for a 12 PM tilt with GMC foe Middletown. Tickets for Saturday's game are $5.
