MORROW -- The Little Miami Panthers baseball team (6-5, 4-3 ECC) trailed ECC rival Walnut Hills (7-3, 5-2 ECC) 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning on Wednesday afternoon at the LMHS Panthers Ball Park. Then, in the bottom of the fifth the Panthers bats came to life. LM rallied for six-straight runs to knot the game at six heading into the sixth inning.
Little Miami held the visiting Eagles scoreless in the top of the sixth, while adding a run in the bottom of the inning to hold on for a
7-6 comeback win over the ECC's top ranked team.
"What an inning!" exclaimed LM skipper
Matt Craig. "We struggled early in the game to find our rhythm, but things came together in the sixth. I'm proud of our kids for continuing to fight. This great win for our program, and shows we a certainly capable of playing with any team in the ECC."
The win moves the Panthers above .500 at 6-5 overall and to 4-3 in league play. The Panthers return to action on Saturday, April 17 at 12 PM when they once again face Walnut Hills in the Reds Futures High School Showcase for Jackie Robinson Day held at the
P&G MLB Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy.
