Little Miami names Adam Ponzio as Strength and Conditioning Coach for Panther Athletics

MAINEVILLE - The Little Miami School District is proud to announce the hiring of Adam Ponzio as the new Strength and Conditioning Coach/Weight Room Coordinator. Approved by the Board of Education on Tuesday, July 22, Coach Ponzio steps into the role previously held by Sean Sherman, who is leaving the district to pursue opportunities in a different field.

Coach Ponzio brings strong knowledge and energy to Little Miami High School's athletic programs. Most recently, he served as a strength and conditioning intern at Loveland High School, where he played a key role in developing and executing customized training programs for a variety of athletic teams. He earned strong endorsements from the Loveland leadership team for his professionalism, attention to detail, and impact on student-athlete performance.

In May 2025, Ponzio graduated from the University of Cincinnati, earning degrees in Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition. He also holds certifications in Sports Coaching, Sports Media, and Promotion, and is currently pursuing nationally accredited strength and conditioning credentials.

At Loveland, Ponzio led team warm-ups, instructed athletes on proper lifting technique, monitored progress, and worked hands-on in both individual and team training environments. His experience extends beyond the weight room. As an instructor with the Universal Cheer Association (UCA), he led camps across the Midwest for middle school, high school, and college athletes—coaching technique, safety, and performance while also managing logistics like scheduling, practice organization, and evaluations.

"Coach Ponzio's knowledge and education stood out throughout the interview process," said Athletic Director Matt Louis. "He demonstrates a deep understanding of strength and conditioning principles and has a passion for helping student-athletes grow. We believe he will be a strong asset to our program and look forward to building a long-term partnership."

While at UC, Ponzio was also a standout member of the Bearcats cheerleading team, contributing to their national championship victories in 2022 and 2023. The team also earned multiple Top 10 national finishes in both gameday and traditional routines—demonstrating his understanding of high-level competition and athletic discipline.

Coach Ponzio is already beginning his work at Little Miami. This week, he'll begin collaborating with varsity head coaches to develop and implement strength and conditioning programs tailored to each sport. These programs will serve as a foundational pillar in supporting the district's continued growth in athletic performance.

The Little Miami Athletic Department remains committed to providing student-athletes with the tools they need to excel—on and off the field. With Coach Ponzio on board, the future looks strong.
