MORROW -- An otherwise beautiful fall evening at Little Miami High School on Thursday night turned into monsoon of rain by halftime of the Panthers varsity boys' soccer match with the ECC rival Milford Eagles in LMHS Panther Stadium. However, Little Miami responded to the rainy conditions and with 4:10 remaining in the game, junior MID Brandon Prough netted the games only goal to lift the host Panthers over the visitors 1-0. The win gives Little Miami an instant boost of confidence and lifts the Panthers to 3-5-3 overall and 2-3-1 in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. The Panthers return to action on Monday, Oct. 2 for a nonconference matchup with former league foe Edgewood.
"This win is awesome!" said first-year LMHS head coach Andy Schur. "We've been itching to get back on the field after two previous game cancelations, and tonight the team responded in incredible fashion," Schur continued. "This win certainly helps us build a foundation of confidence that is needed entering the final weeks of the regular season."
