Girls Lacrosse: Little Miami names Meredith Reuscher Lady Panthers varsity head coach

MORROW -- Pending Board of Education approval, the search for Little Miami's next varsity girls lacrosse head coach was finalized this week, and the Panthers chose to stay close to home with the promotion of LMHS junior varsity head coach Meredith Reuscher.

Reuscher, who enters her second season with the Lady Panthers lacrosse program, is excited to return this season in the role of the varsity head coach. Last season, Meredith led multiple goalie workshops and coached the JV team to a 9-4 overall record. Meredith is extremely proud of the 2022 JV squad who worked and fought hard as a team for their well-deserved victories. A very bright note to convey, is that almost half of the rostered JV players were playing the sport for the first time and excitement is certainly brewing for future program success and continuity.

"Our athletic department saw great untapped talent in Coach Reuscher's ability to lead the program," said athletic director Matt Louis. "She is a pillar of mentorship to the young ladies in the program, and we're certain she'll continue to challenge them to grow as their new head coach for the program."

Meredith graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a double major in Juvenile Corrections and Police Studies. She went on to earn two Master's degrees and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Meredith has worked with adolescents in multiple contexts for over 15 years and the last six years have been spent serving the students and families of the Little Miami School District as a Mental Health Therapist. Meredith finds her role at LMHS very rewarding and loves that she gets to connect and invest in students as a coach in addition to her role as therapist.

Growing up, Coach Reuscher played multiple sports throughout her childhood and adolescence including soccer, basketball, softball, and lacrosse. Lacrosse became her favorite sport in high school where she played as a goalie her junior and senior year. Meredith earned both the MVP and Unsung Hero awards in Lacrosse. Meredith's senior year, her team finished second in the state.

"I am honored by the opportunity to serve as the Lady Panthers next girl's lacrosse head coach," said Reuscher. "We have already laid a foundation. It starts with heart, hustle, and teamwork. From there, we build and grow. Let's Go Lady Panthers!"

Stay tuned for future program and 2023 seasonal organizational information that will be issued by Coach Reuscher to previous and interested student-athletes and families.
