LMHS Spring Signing Day

Eight more Panthers make collegiate commitments

MORROW -- In total, the LMHS Class of 2021 currently has 14 Panthers signing to advance their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. Six LM seniors signed on Wednesday, Feb. 3, and eight more put pen-to-paper on Wednesday, April 14 in the LMHS Auditorium. Congratulations to all 2021 Panthers! We are so proud of your accomplishments as Panthers, and we're excited to watch you in college!

Headlining this year's class is LM football WR Reis Stocksdale, who committed to The Ohio State University as a preferred walk-on. Stocksdale departs Little Miami as the most decorated receiver in school history. Stocksdale was a four-year varsity starter and team captain. The speedy WR had an impressive 2020 campaign which culminated in school records in receiving TDs (32), and receiving yards in a game (323 at Wilmington in Week 10). Reis is also ranked in the No. 2 (862, 2020) and 4 (786, 2019) positions for receiving yards in a season. For his efforts, Stocksdale was tabbed first-team all-Ohio following the season and also earned all-conference honors 2018-2020.

"Reis is a talent doesn't come around often," said LM head coach Caleb Jones. "His work ethic and skill set have earned him a tremendous opportunity at Ohio State and we're excited to see him represent the Panthers as a Buckeye."

Another Panther who had a tremendous career of note this school year was wrestler Alex Hobbs. Hobbs became the first Panther in 29 years to be named a district champion. Hobbs completed his career with an overall record of 98-28, and placed sixth in the OHSAA State Championships in the 160-pound weight class. He is a two-time sectional champion and a three-time district qualifier. Alex is also the younger brother of Panther wrestling head coach Drew Hobbs.

"I am so proud of Alex," said Panther wrestling head coach Drew Hobbs. "The success he had this season was a culmination of many years of hard work, and he earned championships that hadn't been achieved in decades. His legacy will certainly be a measure and foundation future Panthers aim to reach."

On the hardwood, two Panthers will move on to play basketball at the next level. Lady Panthers' guard Ally Grake was the 2019 SWOC player of the year, and she will attend Marietta College next year. Grake was tabbed first-team all-ECC in 2020-21 enroot to claiming the school record for assists in a game (14). Grake also completed her impressive basketball career by landing in the Top 10 all-time in scoring (736 points) for the Lady Panthers. Two of Grake's top memories from this season were victories over ECC champion Loveland at home, and the Round 1 sectional tournament win over Sycamore in the postseason.

Austin Center was a 2019-20 first-team all-SWOC player, and earned honorable mention accolades in the school's first season in the rugged ECC. Center's prolific outside shooting skill earned him school records for the most 3-pointers made in a game (8), and he also set the Top Mark in the SWOC with the most 3-pointers made in a season (70). Center will play for Bluffton University starting in 2021-22.

Again, thank you and congratulations to all of our 2020-21 Panther signees.
